Wunderbrow; is it wunderful?

I’ve heard a lot of hype about this product from the States.  I’ve always been curious because it has big claims such as it stays on, until you decide to take it off.   When I was walking through the aisles of my local Boots store and saw it hanging up next to the makeup brushes, I decided to pick it up and try it for myself.  Here is how I got on…

There seemed to be a couple of colours to choose from, so I went for the shade blonde which seemed to be a good match judging by the packaging.  Inside the box you get the product itself in a lipgloss style tube, instructions and a spoolie.  There is 4 shades to choose from and are £19.95 each.

“Wunderbrow formula contains an exclusive blend of hair-like fibers, combined with specially treated pigments designed to fasten onto skin and hair. This Hair Fiber Complex is then infused into a Permafix Gel that creates a flexible matrix, locking the natural color and fibers onto your brows.”

I assumed that the end the product would be applied using a small mascara style wand that you brush through your hairs, but no.  The applicator is a brush with hairs, and not that small so it looked quite intimidating to go straight into the brows with this brush!

I brushed my brows in an upwards motion, wiped off most of the product back into the tube from the brush and gently stroked it through my brows, and then brushed through with the spoolie.  The colour match is perfect for me and I like that it isn’t warm toned at all.

It gave a natural finish using this method but not as polished as I would like/am used to, especially when it comes to the brow tail.

I decided to go in with an angle brush and some of the product on it to sharpen up the tail, which worked well and I prefer the finish this way.  The texture is on the thinner side, I would compare it to a liquid lipstick in this regard.  I would say it is a satin finish, its not completely matte and nor is overly shiny.

As for staying power, it is immense.  It seems to only come off if you apply an oil based cleanser.  I have used face wipes that do not contain oil and removed all of my makeup with it but the brows stay put.  I absolutely love this product and will repurchase for sure, although I think one tube will last a long time.  They even stay on in the shower!

I would recommend it for people that are active and want their brows to stay in place all day, or for people that rub faces throughout the day 🙂

Here is the link to buy it from Boots in case you are curious

The product itself gets a 9/10 for me, but the applicator gets a 7/10.  I think a small mascara want like the Gimme Brow by Benefit would make it a lot easier to apply.

Let me know if you like this too or if it is on your wish list!

Bye for now

  1. Awesome. Glad you reviewed this as it’s been popping up on my face book adds for a while. Will definitely give it a go.
Does it look as natural as powder based eyebrow kits?

    1. Hi Lindsey! I haven’t used a powder based eyebrow product for quite a long time, but I do find the Wunderbrow does provide a natural look provided that you wipe off the excess from the brush before applying. If you have too much product on the end it can look quite unnatural. I think practice will make perfect but having used this on holiday whilst swimming in the sea and being in a hot climate, its great to have a product that doesn’t budge!
